The following data and information that supported the 2023 Boundary and Student Assignment Study are compiled below. The information was provided during Advisory Committee meetings and town halls. The information is grouped categorically.
Supporting Information
- Boundary Study supporting datasheet: This datasheet includes foundational school-level information (e.g., enrollment, demographics, capacity and utilization, distance traveled to school) about DCPS schools.
- Existing school boundaries and attendance zones for SY2023-24: This map series illustrates the DCPS elementary, middle, and high school boundaries for SY23-24.
- DCPS feeder patterns for SY2023-24: This links to the DCPS school feeder patterns as of SY23-24. A feeder pattern school is one that a student has the right to next attend after the terminal grade is completed at their current school.

- PreKindergarten: This compilation includes PK3 and PK4 information about enrollment, seats offered, waitlists, and Title 1 status.
- Public school enrollments per DCPS boundary: The spreadsheet provides the number of grade-appropriate public school students who live in each DCPS boundary, the names of public schools attended by the students living in each boundary, and the number of students from the boundary who attend that school for SY2022-23.
- Segregation: This compilation includes the shares of public school students who live in the DCPS elementary boundaries by race/ethnicity and at risk of academic failure, and DCPS elementary school boundaries that are adjacent to one another with large differences in both.
- Specialized programs: This compilation includes information about specialized programming offered in the District's public schools and information about dual language programs, college and career programming, Career and Technical Education programs, and special education self contained classrooms.
- Student demographics and special populations: This compilation includes public school students' race/ethnic information by sector, ward, and DCPS feeder pattern; share of students receiving special education services; and share of students designated as at risk of academic failure.
- Student enrollment pathways: The interactive page from DME's EdScape (an online webtool) shows where public school students (DCPS and public charter) enroll during transition grades, such as between elementary school and middle school, or between middle school and high school.
- Total schools and facilities over time: This compilation includes information about the number of public schools over time, the number of schools that have opened and closed over time, and the number of schools by size of enrollment.
