As part of the FY25 Budget Support Act, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education (DME) is responsible for convening a working group to assess the progress of the DC School Connect Program and consider the longer-term strategy for the program. DC School Connect is a transportation program for K-12 students enrolled in public and public charter schools in Wards 7 and 8 to help them get to school safely. The working group will consider current data and metrics on the program and will incorporate perspectives from students who have used the program.
The working group is comprised of representatives from city education, public safety, and operations agencies and will convene on the following dates from 3:00pm-5:00pm.
