(Washington, DC) – On Saturday, August 14, at 12 pm, the Bowser Administration will host a Back-to-School Block Party for students and families at Woody Ward Recreation Center in Ward 7. The event will feature free food, music, games, giveaways, and more.
DC Health will offer free, on-site COVID-19 vaccinations. DC youth ages 12-17 who receive their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine at the event will have the opportunity to receive a $51 VISA Gift card or, while supplies last, a pair of AirPods. Parents or guardians who bring their children to one of these three sites are also eligible to receive one $51 VISA gift card per child vaccinated.
The event will also feature a STAY DC Pop Up to help families sign up for financial support to cover housing and utility expenses and offset the loss of income.
